Five Decades
Dozier Cook started Dozier Crane & Machinery in 1974. We have succeeded for over five decades because of a simple philosophy: we supply customers with the right crane to accommodate their specific wants, needs, and requirements.
1974
The Beginning
Dozier Cook founds the company with a focus on used cranes and the construction-related industry. Our expertise grew through hands-on experience in bridge work, foundation work, and heavy erection.
The Expansion Years
Dozier becomes a stocking distributor and authorized dealer for Shuttlelift, Manitex, and Terex. We secure a worldwide reputation for extensive technical knowledge, supporting everything from modern Kobelcos to legacy machines like American and Bucyrus-Erie.
2007
Dozier Worldwide Founded
We launch Dozier Worldwide Cranes to provide both bare and operated & maintained rentals. This expansion allows us to offer NCCCO Certified Operators and complimentary job site evaluations to ensure the correct rigging for every project.
Today
A Global Footprint
Recognized as “The Crane Specialists,” we operate as a stocking distributor with a worldwide reputation. To date, we have sold cranes in 48 states and more than 50 foreign countries.

Dozier Cook
Founder, Owner, CEO
Dozier Cook began his career serving in the United States Air Force as a mechanic during the Vietnam conflict. He retired from active service, and entered the heavy equipment industry. The experience he gained as both a civilian and a serviceman gave him the expertise required to open Dozier Crane and Machinery in 1974. With the help of his father-in-law Bill Avila, Dozier launched the company out of his own garage. Dozier Crane has since grown into a successful business with a presence on the international stage, due in no small part to the hard work and determination put forth by Dozier.
Dozier is very active in his local community and in his church. He enjoys nothing more than spending time with his family, which includes a loving wife, several children, numerous grandchildren, and his beloved dog Jasmine.

Our state-of-the-art facility includes expanded repair capabilities, a professional paint bay, and a welding shop large enough to accommodate most cranes. Our mechanics continuously train to stay current with evolving crane technology, while our CCO-certified operators and modern heavy-haul fleet ensure safe, seamless operation and transportation.
